About Grow
Grow is a free set of tools for Indian food businesses, run by Manbhar Spices (rscmasale.com). We make and pack spices ourselves. These are the tools we wanted when we made our own labels and licence papers.
The rules the tools follow
- FSSAI order dated 13 March 2026: revised turnover thresholds, effective 1 April 2026 (Registration up to ₹1.5 crore, State Licence up to ₹50 crore, Central above that).
- Food Safety and Standards (Licensing and Registration of Food Businesses) Regulations, 2011, as amended.
- Food Safety and Standards (Labelling and Display) Regulations, 2020: mandatory label items, the nutrition table with %RDA, the allergen list, the veg and non-veg marks, and date marking.
- Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Rules, 2011: net quantity, MRP, unit sale price and consumer care details.
- The official portal for applying: foscos.fssai.gov.in.
Nutrition data
Ingredient values are per 100 g, based on USDA FoodData Central (public domain) and standard references for Indian staples. Energy is worked out from protein, carbohydrate, fat and fibre, using FSSAI's conversion factors. These are estimates. Real values change with crop, variety and process, so for large production runs or any nutrition claim, get your product tested at an NABL-accredited lab. You can enter the lab results as "My own ingredient".
Important
These tools give guidance, not legal advice. Regulations change, and your food safety officer or FoSCoS has the final word. The business that sells the food is responsible for its label. If you spot an error or a rule change, please tell us.
